The FLIR E5 Infrared Thermal Imaging Camera offers more resolution and sensitivity in the fantastic new Ex package and at a compelling price. With more pixels comes better information for the technician looking for electrical and mechanical faults. A sensitivity of 0.10 °C gives visibility to subtle temperature differences.
The FLIR E5 has a resolution of 120 x 90, for a total of 10,800 pixels. These pixels are gathering infrared heat through the wide 45° lens, to deliver a picture that can see a larger target, such as more of an overheating motor or a radiant heating floor. Speaking of pictures, the FLIR E5 thermal camera incorporates a visible light camera to capture both infrared and digital photos simultaneously. This makes for great reporting later, with information the client can really understand and value. The E5 even has the ability to combine digital and infrared photos into one information-rich image. This MSX Thermal Image Enhancement technology fuses all the data from both images without losing any of the relevant thermal or visible detail.
The new E5 includes a center spot for temperature measurement, as well as an area box in which the camera will automatically identify the hot and cold spots in the image. Flir Tools software is included and is compatible with PC or Mac platforms.
